About the Inn

Quincy Feather Bed Inn is a beautiful, historic, family-owned Inn, located in the heart of Quincy, a small western town. It's nestled among the northern Sierra Nevada mountain range. The Inn is located just steps from downtown, behind the historic Plumas County Courthouse and within a block or two of restaurants and shops.

We are recently featured in Weekend Sherpa, titled Buck's Up. Note, it says we are a B&B, we're just a "B", no food.

We have been featured in Only In Your State. We are #5 in the list of These 8 Bed & Breakfasts In Northern California Are Perfect For A Getaway. Note, we do not serve food.

We get a mention in Sierra Rec Magazine in the article Take Me to The Lake.

What we are is a quiet respite for our guests. We are not a family resort and as such, do not recommend children. We strive for a quiet and respectful atmosphere.

Quincy Feather Bed Inn is one of the best places to stay in downtown Quincy.  The Inn features five 2nd story guest rooms and two ground floor guest cottages. Each of the rooms and cottages are adorably decorated and outfitted with WiFi, premium TV, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee pot, a hair dryer and spa bathrobe. It's the perfect lodging choice for professionals, couples, and adventurers. Plumas County is a rugged outdoor enthusiasts paradise, and we are centrally located to serve as a hub.

Quincy Feather Bed Inn was built in 1893 by Englishman Edward Huskinson and his bride, Jennie. The rooms have been named after Huskinson's family members. It’s constructed in Queen Anne style and was known as “The Huskinson House.” For more details regarding this family and the rest of the community, visit the local museum, just three doors down the block.

There is no office at the Inn. The Inn operates much like a motel, as there is no food served, and no common areas in which to mingle. The manager, Shelley, will provide you with instructions for self-check-in. Of course, she will try to be available for you during check-in to show you your room and answer any questions you may have. If she misses you during check-in time, she will try to contact you to make sure all is well.

In striving to be as green as we can be, we are working toward eliminating single use amenities, such as bar soap and small bottles of soaps. The liquid hand soap doubles as body wash. This is keeping in line with California's desire to reduce waste.

Rising rates in utilities and insurance has required us to make some changes so we can continue to offer our guests the same amenities you come to expect. We now provide guests 2 cups of coffee per person per day. If you need more than that to get your day started, there are lovely nearby places to get more coffee and perhaps a little something to eat: Grandma Janes, Quincy Provisions, Midtown Coffee and the Co-op all have coffee to go.
